We made it! (But don’t forget the dash)
By Jon Busdeker on May. 03, 2007
After countless broken promises and years of work, we have finally joined the modern age.
The Burg has a Web site.
Check it out at http://www.the-burg.com. (Don’t forget the dash.)
We hope the site will be the first place you go for all your local entertainment needs because The Burg is the only Arts & Entertainment Weekly in Lynchburg.
For those who can’t wait to get to a computer, here are a few details about the new site.
There’s a section that highlights our stories for anyone who missed them in the print version.
We tried to make the site interactive by allowing users the ability to post pictures, discuss issues and see what’s going on in the Hill City — as well as comment on stories, reviews and columns you regularly see in the print version.
The calendar allows you to pick a specific date and see if anything is happening. Or, for example, if you want to know if any bands are playing in the area, you can choose the “music/concerts” category and search that way.
“Beats in the Burg” hasn’t changed much, but gets a more prominent space on our new site. For those who don’t know, it’s a section for those aspiring bands out there wanting to get their music out to the Lynchburg crowd. Any band wanting to show off their tunes, let us know and we’ll get it on the site.
This area of the site is also for anyone looking to hear bands in and around Lynchburg.
There’s a “Picture It” forum that allows amateur photographers a chance to get their pictures out there.
Don’t like where the city government’s going? Can’t stand the traffic on Wards Road? Want the skatepark to be built? Under “Discuss It,” you can rant and rave about what’s happening in Lynchburg.
The one feature that’s bound to take you to some of Lynchburg’s best restaurants is the “Dining Guide.” It offers a look into a world of quality eats in the area.
The site has lots to offer and offers one-stop convenience for all things Lynchburg. Go check it out and tell us what you think.
Here it is again: http://www.the-burg.com. (Don’t forget the dash.)

Great idea! Everyone at the paper is so encouraging and imaginative, well, at least that’s how I see it!
