Summertime, and the living’s easy

Ah, summer. School’s out of session and the days are long and lazy. Time seems to both stand still and speed along at the same time — one minute it’s Memorial Day, the next, Labor Day.
And now the Fourth of July is nearly upon us, so summer is in full swing. Which means there is a limited amount of time for you to enjoy everything the Hill City has to offer in these warm months.
There’s Friday Cheers, of course, the downtown party where people can unwind after a long workweek.
Every Saturday there are fresh fruits and vegetables at the Community Market (although this is a year-round occurrence, it seems summertime is when most of the vendors are present).
Although there are many events planned for the upcoming holiday (check out Page 16), there will be more festivals and community events in the coming months, enough to fill your calendar.
So get out there and enjoy this time to frolic in the grass and remember what life was like when we were kids. We’re not advocating calling in sick to work ... just make good use of the time you do have. Summer comes but once a year.
