The Nelson County Historical Foundation and the Wintergreen Nature Foundation will take a look at the role of Virginians in America’s freedom with three
performances this winter.
Each show will take place at 7 p.m. in the Nelson County High School auditorium. Tickets for the series are $40 for members and students; $50 for non-members. Admission for individual performances is $15 for members and students; $20 for non-members.
The first performance will take place Jan. 26. “The Times that Tried the Souls of Men” will re-create some of the debates by prominent Virginians that resulted in the dissolution of the House of Burgesses and the eventual war with England.
The second show, “Virginia’s Leadership and the Struggles of a New Nation,” is scheduled for Feb. 9. The performance will address protests and debates over the original draft of the Constitution.
The final event, “A Time of Celebration,” will take place Feb. 23. Tuckahoe musician Joseph Ayers will perform with a variety of instruments of the period.
