Sedalia Center hosts outdoor rock festival

The Sedalia Center will be rockin’ next weekend as the Big Island venue hosts a two-day outdoor rock festival.
Featuring the performances of 17 bands, “Rockin’ ‘08” is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 15 and Saturday, Aug. 16, rain or shine.
Friday’s roster includes bands At War, Syndicate, Download, Chaulkline Beauty and Steeltame. Gates open at 5 p.m. and music goes from 6 to 11 p.m.
On Saturday, gates open at 11 a.m. and the music runs from noon to 11 p.m. The bands set to perform are Sick n’ Tired, Envy Insane, Spuknof, Point of Honor, Frail-T, South 29, The Andy Hollander Band, Fallon, Strafe, Jupiter’s Incense and The Pogo.
Tickets are $10 on Friday and $15 on Saturday. Two-day tickets are available for $22.

Wintergreen hosts third annual festival
The third annual Blue Ridge Mountain Music Fest is scheduled for Aug. 16 at Wintergreen.
The line-up includes Robin and Linda Williams and Their Fine Group, who offer a blend of bluegrass, folk, old-time and acoustic country.
Other artists on the roster include Amherst County’s Deer Creek Boys, The Courtney Hollow Band, The Company Store and The McKenzies and Kim and Jimbo Cary.
The festival is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tickets are $20 for adults, $10 for children ages 6 to 17, and free for those 6 and younger.
