Big lineup for MTV’s ‘TRL’ finale
MTV said goodbye to “Total Request Live.” On Sunday, the 10-year-old show — largely credited for spurring the popularity of boy bands in the late ’90s — signed off. Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Beyoncé, 50 Cent, Fall Out Boy, the Backstreet Boys and Justin Timberlake dropped by, and original host Carson Daly.
Music notes
Bruce Springsteen’s “Workin’ on a Dream,” which he performed a few weeks ago at a Barack Obama rally, got its official debut during NBC’s Sunday Night Football last weekend. “Workin’” is also expected on Springsteen’s January album.
Faith Hill’s “Soundstage” performance, which includes songs from her Christmas album, “Joy to the World,” will air Nov. 30 at 8 p.m. on CMT.

The Dave Matthews Band will unveil two live releases Dec. 16. “Live at Mile High Music Festival” was recorded July 2 outside Denver and features the band’s stellar covers of Peter Gabriel’s “Sledgehammer” and Sly & The Family Stone’s “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin).” Meanwhile, “Live Trax Vol. 13” comes from a show at Busch Stadium in St. Louis in June.
Richard Marx has two new releases available for pre-order on his Web site, http://www.richardmarx.com. “Emotional Remains” is a little harder edged than typical Marx work, while “Sundown” features duets with Toni Braxton and Vince Gill, as well as covers of Beatles and Rolling Stones songs.
Franz Ferdinand’s “Tonight: Franz Ferdinand” is slated to arrive Jan. 27.
