This year’s VH1 Rock Honors will be all about The Who and nothing but The Who. In the past, the show has celebrated multiple veterans, including ZZ Top, Genesis and Queen. But this year’s show, taping July 12 in Los Angeles and airing on VH1 July 17, will focus on Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend, who are slated to perform, along with other acts paying tribute.

Maroon 5 and Counting Crows will tour this summer and kick off the run July 25 at the Virginia Beach Amphitheater. Sara Bareilles, she of the current hit “Love Song” is also on the bill. The tour also stops Aug. 16 at Nissan Pavilion. Stay tuned for ticket on sale info.

George Michael’s first U.S. tour in 17 years will swing by the Verizon Center in D.C. July 29, with tickets going on sale the weekend of April 6. A special iTunes/Ticketmaster package of tickets and “Twenty Five,” his 19-song hits set, is available now via ticketmaster. 

Album News
Kylie Minogue returns Tuesday with “X,” her first studio album since 2003. The album is available for streaming in its entirety through today at http://www.myspace.com/kylieminogue.

Clay Aiken wraps his Broadway run in “Spamalot” in May, and “On My Way Here,” his first new release of all-fresh material since 2003, arrives May 6. Look for Aiken to tour starting in July.

Lil Wayne’s “Tha Carter III” album will finally arrive May 13. The disc is the final set in the “Carter” trilogy.

Alanis Morissette has bumped back the release of “Flavors of Entanglement” to June 10.

Coldplay last week announced the title of its new album and then promptly changed it to, “Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends” Look for it June 17.

Chris Brown hopes to soon release a repackaged version of his “Exclusive” CD to include a few new songs and a DVD. No release date has been set.
