Listen to husband this time
By Jon Busdeker on May. 24, 2007
Dear Emily: I have been getting a lot of headaches lately, and my husband said it is probably because I’ve been spending a great deal of time outside gardening. I told him that was ridiculous and how can just being outside a couple of hours a day cause my headaches? He is not a doctor, but sometimes thinks he knows everything! Please tell me he doesn’t!
— Frustrated with Headaches & Husband
Dear Frustrated with Headaches & Husband: Sorry to burst your bubble, but your husband has a point this time.
The headaches could be the result of allergies, as pollen is everywhere right now. Even squinting for long periods of time, trying to avoid the bright sunlight, can lead to headaches.
So yes, your husband has a point, but remember, neither he nor I are doctors, so you need to get yourself to see one. These headaches could be from a number of things and it is best to get to the root of the problem and talk to a professional.
