Five bands, five bucks

Apparently January is the month to rock out in Lynchburg.
Several shows are scheduled, including one this week with Ready the Way, Saravain, The Comeback Tour, The Poison Written and Guilty By Design. Sunday, Jan. 13, the five bands will play at room180 for $5. Ready the Way, of Richmond and Lynchburg, have been on tour with Saravain and will be stopping in for a hometown performance.
The Poison Written, a local band of Liberty University students, are off to a good start this year, as they’ve been slated to play Sunday as well as open a Jan. 21 show with Texas metal act, Oh, Sleeper.
“We’re ridiculously blessed to be playing with the bands that we are,” guitarist Ryan Grim says. “It’s a matter of God blessing us more than we deserve. We’re super-stoked to be holding our own with bands at such levels, it’s only going to make us that much stronger.”
The LU rockers aren’t letting the success go to their heads just yet, either. They remain candid about their faith and why they’re even able to play music.
“(For the band) I think that the sky is the limit,” guitarist Dan Kelly says. “We just want to spread our faith, and let people know how great it is to be loved unconditionally by an amazing God.” J
