Change tactics to get co-worker to be serious
By Jon Busdeker on Aug. 06, 2007
Dear Emily: I have been playing hard to get with a co-worker of mine for about three months now. “Steve” is always flirting with me and making suggestions about the two of us getting together outside of work, and I keep pretending that I’m not interested because I can’t really tell if he is being serious or not. The problem is, I am interested and he has never asked me out for real. How do I get him to stop making suggestions and start making actual offers?
— Getting Tired of Games
Dear Getting Tired of Games: Maybe Steve hasn’t asked you out for real because you keep pretending you are not interested.
Either put an end to all the game playing and ask him out, or at least change your tactics and start flirting back. Put yourself out there and put an end to this cycle.
Ask him where he’d take you if you agreed to a date, and then tell him you’d be up for it — just pick the date and time.
