Renaissance to hold auditions
Renaissance Theatre will hold auditions for “Champagne Sundays” at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the theatre, 1022 Commerce St. Roles are available for two men and two women. Actors should be able to portray a person of retirement age. Readings will be taken from the script. No prior preparation is necessary. Show dates are throughout May. Academy sets new class schedule
The Pottery Studio School at the Academy of Fine Arts will offer a selection of classes in pottery, jewelry and glass for children and adults during spring. Payment is due at registration. Holocaust survivor to speak at SBC
Eva Kor will speak about her experiences at Auschwitz during the Holocaust and her metamorphosis from embittered survivor to an advocate for reconciliation this weekend. She will be at Sweet Briar College at 8 p.m. Sunday, in the Boxwood Room of the Florence Elston Inn & Conference Center.

There will also be a film screening of “Forgiving Dr. Mengele,” a documentary of Kor’s shocking act of forgiveness. Kor and sister Miriam were victims of Nazi doctor Josef Mengele’s cruel genetic experiments on twins. A discussion will follow led by Gerry Sherayko, Randolph College associate professor of history. The screening will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday in Smith Memorial Building 300.
