Horse and Hound set for July 11
The fifth annual Horse and Hound Wine Festival is set for July 11 on the grounds of Johnson’s Orchards in Bedford County, featuring tastings by eight local wineries.
The family-friendly event features activities for dogs, horses and humans alike. Dogs are eligible to participate in events like lure coursing, mustkrat racing, agility and obedience trial. Horses of all breeds will parade for ribbons and monetary prizes.
The day is rounded out with live music by Billie Sutton & Roadhouse, a Roanoke-based band that combines the sounds of rhythm and blues and Southern rock. There will also be food, crafts vendors and children’s activities.
The festival runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m, rain or shine.
