ABC previews 11 new fall series

By Casey Gillis on May. 15, 2007

Take a gander at ABC’s new falls line ups, and it looks like a whole new network.

Eight new series will premiere this fall, followed by three more as the season progresses.

Gone are cancelled series “What About Brian,“ “George Lopez,“ “Knights of Prosperity,“ “In Case of Emergency,“ “Six Degrees” and “According to Jim,“ while renewed series include “Brothers & Sisters,“ “Men In Trees,“ “Ugly Betty,“ “Grey’s Anatomy,“ “Lost,“ “Boston Legal,“ “Desperate Housewives,“ “Dancing with the Stars,“ “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,“ “The Bachelor,“ “Supernanny,“ “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Wife Swap.“

Midseason shows “October Road” and “Notes from the Underbelly” will return after the fall seasons of “Dancing” and “The Bachelor.“

The new series are:

Sam I Am (9:30 p.m. Mondays)
Christina Applegate stars in this comedy as Samantha “Sam” Newly, a women who wakes up with amnesia after an eight-day coma. As she starts to learn more about herself, Sam realizes she wasn’t a very good person and sets out to start a new life. It also stars Jennifer Esposito, Jean Smart, Kevin Dunn (“Prison Break”) and Melissa McCarthy (“Gilmore Girls”).

Cavemen (8 p.m. Tuesdays)
Based on those Geico “It’s so easy a caveman could do it” commercials, this comedy follows three of them as they try to live their life in Atlanta.

Carpoolers (8:30 p.m. Tuesdays)
This series follows four guys who commute to work together every day and stars Jerry O’Connell, Faith Ford, Fred Goss, Jerry Minor, and Tim Peper.

Pushing Daisies (8 p.m. Wednesdays)
This high-concept drama follows Ned (Lee Pace), who can touch dead things and bring them back to life, a skill he uses to help a cop solve murder cases. He runs into some trouble when he uses it for his own personal gain and brings his childhood sweetheart, Chuck (Anna Friel), back to life, but if he ever touches her again, she’ll die.

Private Practice (9 p.m. Wednesdays)
You’ve probably heard absolutely nothing about this “Grey’s Anatomy” spinoff, right? It follows Addison as she moves to Los Angeles to work at a - you guessed it - private practice.

Dirty Sexy Money (10 p.m. Wednesdays)
Peter Krause (“Six Feet Under”) returns to television as lawyer Nick George, who goes to work for the rich Darling family in New York after his father’s mysterious death. Also stars Donald Sutherland, William Baldwin, Samaire Armstrong, and Jill Clayburgh.

Big Shots (10 p.m. Thursdays)
Be still my heart - Michael Vartan, who wooed me for years as Vaughn on “Alias,“ is back! He stars as one of four high-powered friends alongside Dylan McDermott (“The Practice”), Christopher Titus (“Titus”) and Joshua Malina (“The West Wing”).

Women’s Murder Club (9 p.m. Fridays)
Four working women - a detective, a district attorney, a medical examiner and a reporter - solve murder cases. Based on James Patterson’s best-selling novels of the same name, the series stars Angie Harmon (“Law & Order”), Paula Newsome (“Little Miss Sunshine”), Aubrey Dollar (“Guiding Light”) and Laura Harris (“Dead Like Me”).

Cashmere Mafia (Timeslot TBA)
Lucy Lui, Frances O’Connor, Miranda Otto and Bonnie Somerville star as four ambitious women who have been friends since business school.

Eli Stone (TBA)
Jonny Lee Miller - hubba, hubba - stars as the titular lawyer, who starts hallucinating and eventually suspects that he might be a prophet. Also stars Victor Garber (“Alias”), Loretta Devine (“Grey’s Anatomy”) and Natasha Henstridge.

Miss/Guided (TBA)
The always charming Judy Greer plays Rebecca Freely, a former geek who returns to her old high school as a guidance couselor.
